John H. Brands provides accounting, tax and business advisory services to small businesses and individuals throughout the Chicagoland area. Many of his clients initially retained him to resolve an IRS collection issue and most of these cases involved filing several years of delinquent tax returns with minimal documentation, therefore he became very proficient in rebuilding financials using resources such as transcripts from the IRS, county recorder offices, etc. Because of his experience in tax controversy, exam and appeal matters, he has an intricate knowledge of IRS collections and is very skilled in IRS tax negotiation.
Mr. Brands is a CPA and EA and therefore has the business acumen that the CPA designation would suggest, and as an EA, the expertise in income tax and collections.
